1. I am slowly but surely getting frustrated. The deal was AOL was changing to AIM and everything was going to be soooo much better. I have not seen anything better yet. The old saying is don't fix what is not broken. I loved my group page where we could dispay Pictures, emails, What ever. Not it is all crumbling before my eyes. One of the things I loved AOL was the great support for the groups. Then you started messing with it AND know you say there will not be any more groups as I understand it. I could not get into my group page like I should have been able to. I was told I had to remake the group. I did that but my invitation will go out. (I hate the cryptic message to do everything. The bottom line is I am very upset with the group situation.

2. I have had my group for over 4 years,When it bacame AIM groups all the features went away,No chat,no place for photos and all that having to type codes to invite members. The most troubling thing was there was no way for a group owner to moderate or delete messages that caused drama. Also no daily digests so everyone had to get every single email. Please dont take away the groups.

3. Oh how I agree with the two entries. I have been a member of AOL for 13 years - my family (6 children and 8 grandchildren) LOVED the old and original AIM that went back to 2002 - with all their changes and improvements AOL will soon turn off many customers and lose a lot of income.
My fee had been $6.95, my server is another company. Without any announcement my fee is now $9.99. Trusting soul that I am I let them charge it to my credit card on a monthly basis. I am also VERY put out with AOL and I hope they wake up and see the light or I shall change - would hate to do it but there is a limit - it has almost been reached. WAKE UP FOLKS we are your customers - treat us right!!

4. The AIM Groups feature has not worked properly for the duration (couple of months) that I've used it. It is another let-down in the AOL to AIM shift saga with which I'm more cynical than angry. I won't say more on the matter, although I'm wondering when if ever we get anything like this back. And if anyone at AOL / AIM can be bothered about a trivial matter like customer satisfaction, or dissatisfaction more appropriately.

5. Also - forget "later" as far as your projected new site is concerned - I don't think too many people will join in - I certainly won't. Two let downs are enough for me!!

6. Why did they change the groups to AIM groups anyway? Why are they now getting rid of the groups?

7. Well, I too have been a member with AOL for 10+ years, even went as far as "volunteering" with them. Well, the changes in the past 5 years with AOL is very disheartening. Change is NOT always for the better. Please leave the "Groups" area alone and arround!

8. I'm willing to bet the deal with AIM groups is the fact that they do not want to pay for the space for the groups any longer. It's looking more and more like the Free with ad support AOL is not panning out so well for TWC. Next our chat rooms will be moved over to AIM or we will just be left with the lame AIM chat rooms. In any case, I see AOL not lasting very long from here... Have you noticed how long it takes for a page to load on AOL? I paste the same URL in Exp, Firefox, or Opera and it opens in seconds. Seems that AOL is not running on as many servers as it once was. I have heard that TWC sold off all of AOL's new servers and AOL is now running on the old ones pre- 8.0... very sad. This is like watching an old friend die or the neighborhood you grew up in turn to a ghetto. I sure hope I'm wrong but I don't think AOL has very long left.
Regards,
A long time AOL member.

9. Oh, one other thing. Yahoo still has groups but as AOL they did away with the pictures and most of the controls for the groups...
I hate to say this but it's looking more and more like an MSN world. :(

12. I have been with aol for over 8 years and bit by bit everything is falling apart, but I am really upset about the groups, I have been in the same group since I started with aol and have many old friends, we pass on our everyday lives to each other and I know I can always expect a loads of emails every day from them with numerous things, and now you say you are going to take away 8+ years of our lives together, WHAT IS HAPPENING. I think every member I have spoken too said if this happens they are leaving aol, so wake up aol and do something about it.

13. as a member of a great group that is long established i feel very angry with you thinking of closing it as a long standing member of aol i feel we are and should be entitled to a referendum as to whether you close groups i would have long ago changed my server except for my friends in the group take this away and you take away the only remaining reason why ive stayed with aol remember aol the customer is always right

14. I agree - why you getting rid of AOL groups? I have shared some great moments with fellow group members - some sad times too like the death of my mother....we have all shared things and groups have offered great support, have made some great new friends too - remove groups and I'll remove myself - VIRGIN here I come !! - PS: long standing AOL members are being treated like sh1te - we pay our money, have problems understaning tech staff and still stick with you - where's OUR FREE LAPTOPS? not a sign!" - I am livid with AOL -who's the idiot here I wonder?

15. as a long standing AOL member, since the days of AOL 4
to present day i think this idea of stopping the aim groups as they are now stinks,i have a lot of friends on aol and i will lose the if this goes ahead.
the reason behind this is that i have to piggy back aol as we cannot get a bt landline here in hull as kingston communications have the monopoly here.
also remember that aol sold out to carphone warehouse so why cant they intervene in this matter as they are the ones who will feel the loss of finance from the united kingdom commumity.
if this goes ahead there are a lot of aol members who like me will change servers wich is going to be a bind but it needs to be resolved in favor of the aim groups as they stand now.
rule britannier and get your finger out carephonewarehouse.
brian a fed up member.

16. I am MORE than glad that there are so many others that agree with me and have the same experience I have. I was concerned my computer was going bad. NO, AOL is going bad and I am working on going elsewhere.
Would be nice to know how to transfer all my info from the AOL site to a new one. Does anyone have a suggestion? Sure could use it - am a retired senior and enjoy spending some time on line - used to be with AOL - but now??????? Bummer!!!

18. i have been reading the comments on here and see we are in complete agreement fellow aol users but will the powers that be read our comments this i doubt what we should all do to make our voices heard is to with hold our monthly fees emblock every one of us that stands up to be counted is a voice to be heard we have been shuffled like a pack of well worn cards with no regards to our opinions whatso ever lets make car phone ware house aim and aol realise we are a power to be reckoned with

19. In this day and time can one truly hope that a company pays its customers some mind? If millions leave AOL, then, because of their disinterest in what truly matters to their customers, there won't be an AOL anymore. Maybe that will the best and only way to bring the message home. Very sad - the old saying:
"Don't fix it if it ain't broke" did not matter. Withholding payments would be one weapon, trouble is that mine is an automatic debit. Cancelling is the only option for me.

20. What really ticks me off, is they say you can save your forum conversations, but when I go to my group, no topics are available. I can't GET TO my old conversations to save them!
